Hello, My name is Laura Burgess and I have been a stay at home mom for over 5 years.  Prior to that I was a 1st grade teacher in the DFW area.  I have always loved working with children and giving back. This organization provides the perfect opportunity to do both. I have been a Box of Balloons volunteer for over 2 years. When I was presented with the opportunity to lead the Aurora Chapter, I was eager to sign up. I am excited to continue providing all the party essentials to children in our community with Box of Balloons! 

Here’s a little bit more about myself.  In my free time I love spending time with my family, biking with friends, and crafting. I was born and raised in Dallas, I attended the University of Texas at Dallas and graduated with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies and my teacher certification EC-6th. In 2017 we made the move to Naperville and this has been home for 7 years. I live with my husband (A fun fact- we both share the same birthday 4-24), our 3 children, and our dog Simba. We travel to Texas a couple times a year to visit family.
